The structure of JSC ‘Belfreight” comprises a company specialized in the surfacing and processing of old vessels to scrap that was created on the base of JSC "Arkhangelsk ship cutting plant". Hydraulic facilities include: a berth and a ship-raising SLIP Г-300 located along the bank line of 340 m total extension.
The main objects of the company are - raising on SLIP and ultimate utilization of vessels and floating objects destined for cutting to scrap and acceptance, processing, sale of industrial and common ferrous metal scrap for further re-melting by buyers. Acquisition of divers team also allows to surface sunken vessels. Technological process consists of the following main stages: acceptance of the raw stuff (metal scrap) delivered by truck or barge, discharge, storage, preparation of the raw stuff to processing, loading of scrap-processing facilities or raw stuff feeding to cutting site, processing itself, ready product handling, storage, quality monitoring, shipment. Initial cutting – lessening the weight of great tonnage vessels is done when afloat by the berth line. Deck superstructure gets cut off, then goes hold equipment, machinery and various apparatus, rigging. All cut off ship scrap gets loaded by a crane onto berth.
The rest part of the vessel under cutting is hoisted on the slip-way and goes to central cutting site. Barges and vessel of small tonnage are hoisted to slip as a whole.
